Contact

I receive a large volume of email and my time is very limited. Much as I’d like to read and reply to every message, that isn’t always possible, so please read my FAQs before contacting me. Thanks!

Do you accept guest posts on this site?

Sorry, no.

Will you edit my book?

If it’s non-fiction in the outdoor, adventure or travel genres, then we could be a good fit. I am also an experienced fiction editor, but I’m taking on fewer fiction clients at the moment and am selective about the work I choose to accept. Nevertheless, let’s talk it through – I love getting my teeth into a good novel!

At most times of the year I need at least four months of notice for a new project – sometimes less in quieter periods, but the more notice you can give me the better. I am particularly busy during the summer. Please get in touch as early as you can.

I’m a magazine publisher. Can you help with copy-editing or proofreading spreads before they go to print?

Let’s talk. From time to time I may have limited availability for magazine work.

Will you publish my article in TGO or Sidetracked?

As a contributing editor, I play no role in commissioning TGO features. If you’d like to discuss a Sidetracked feature, please email  submissions@sidetracked.co.uk — but do read the contributor guidelines first. Sidetracked commissioning decisions are made between myself, John Summerton, and Jenny Tough, but if you send a pitch to this email address then I will read it.

Will you review my book or other product?

Please read my review policy.

Do you publish sponsored content?

In the vast majority of cases the answer will be no, and I will not reply to most emails suggesting paid collaborations. They rarely fit with my vision of what I want to publish – I’m keen to keep material on this site focused and of the best quality.

Will you be an ambassador for my (or my client’s) brand?

Sorry, I’m not currently interested in being a brand ambassador.
